Happy Weekending, friends!
I hope this finds you relaxing and enjoying some downtime. What a week! The sunshine has finally moved in, and the pups and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s high time for some winter hiking and trying to soak up some of those rays while they’re here.
We just received a sample knit of Amy Christoffers’ Pressed Flowers, and boy, oh boy, is it a stunner. We had a shop sample knit up in Moonwink on Tod and Vintage on Birdie, and while I can’t get enough of this beauty’s stark contrast, I’ve already cast on a slightly wilder version in Buoy and Pop Rocks. What do you think? We’ve had this shawl in our hands for less than a week, and all the kids at the shop are creating color combinations. It’s a unique and lovely pattern.
Another pattern that has been getting a lot of inquiries since its release is one of our own, The Sampler Shawl. We designed this pattern with stash-busting in mind and as an engaging and fun way to play with color and to mix those bases. The response has been incredible. We have had people ask for the original colors that we created our store samples in, and with the goal of getting those colors into your hands, we’re having a DTO this weekend to make sure you have what you need! It’s a simple knit and a gorgeous way to show off your love of color.
Before I sign off, I have to share a recipe that has been in constant rotation at our house. I made a batch when I knew company was on the way, and now that they’ve left, I need to get another one in the oven. This Healthy Granola by Gimme Some Oven is terrific! It’s quick and easy to make and is delicious with a milk of your choice, Greek yogurt (my personal favorite), or a handful on its own. Bonus: it makes your house smell absolutely delicious while it’s baking. You can choose to follow the recipe, or if you like an experiment, throw in a little something extra from the pantry! I tend to go light on the nuts and heavy on the sunflower and pumpkins seeds.
Not a breakfast eater? While, in my opinion, granola is appropriate any time of the day, these Easy Granola Clusters, also by Gimme Some Oven, create the option of taking your granola on the go. Using many of the same ingredients, these crunchy bites are perfect for our long days in the lean-to and make an excellent road trip food.
Happy baking, happy knitting & happy granola-eating!
Warmest wishes,
xoxo
