The Lamb & Kid Ooey Gooey Sweater Modifications
Share

Hey Kids!
Ever since Andrea Mowry published her Ooey Gooey Sweater and we shared photos of our finished versions this Fall, we've been getting questions about the modifications!
Fear not friends - we've been working on writing up the modifications so you too can have extra Ooey Gooey goodness.
See how to modify your own Ooey Gooey below:
Minty Fresh Version
1. Sleeves: The short sleeves measure 4 inches from underarm to bind-off.
2. Torso: The torso measures 6 inches from underarm to the start of the bottom ribbing. The ribbing to bind-off is 1.5 inches.
3. Extra Waves: This version has an extended Gertie wave below the dots. There was a bit of magic knitting math with this wave as you'll notice that the arch of the wave ends with three stitches of Gertie rather than 2 stitches of Gertie that the normal pattern uses.
Then this version features a set of Grandma's Button waves starting 2.5 inches above the start of the bottom ribbing. This should roughly follow the original chart of waves used at the top of the sweater. The patten then uses a mix of Limoncello and Francie underneath to the sweater bind-off.

Forest Green Version
1. Sleeves: The short sleeves measure 3.5 inches from underarm to bind-off.
2. Torso: The torso measures 6.5 inches from underarm to the start of the bottom ribbing. The ribbing to bind-off is 1.5 inches.
3. Extra Waves: This version has LOTS of extra waves. There was definitely some magic knitting math involved in creating these. For example, you can see in the Conversation Pit wave under the original pattern dots, the wave arch ends with three stitches rather than 2 stitches that the normal pattern uses. The wave also extends onto the sleeves in this version of the sweater. Then there was an additional set of dots added, knitted larger than the pattern. The larger dot is knit with 3 stitches/4 stitches/4 stitches/4 stitches/3 stitches.
Then this version features a set of Fresco waves starting 3 inches above the start of the bottom ribbing. This should roughly follow the original chart of waves used at the top of the sweater. The patten uses Willow underneath the Fresco wave down to the sweater bind-off.
