Spring Mixer Weekend at The Lamb & Kid: Schedule of Events
Get together with us! There's nothing we like more than throwing a party and getting something new on the needles. And when we heard our friend, Jackie Rose, was available in mid-April we knew we had the excuse we needed! Join us the weekend of April 12-14 for a spring mixer:
Friday, April 12th 5 pm - 8pm: Join Sarah, Jackie, and the Kids for an evening of mingling, noshing, sipping, and project planning. We'll spotlight the mixing of some of our very favorite bases — come cuddle up to a selection of mixed-yarn projects while we mix it all up together. Jackie is bringing her Snow Crocus samples knit up in Dimond Laine yarns and we’ll have lots of freshly dyed yarn on hand so you can put together your own combinations — for Jackie’s workshop, or another project! This is a ticketed event and includes food and drink. Tickets available here!
Please note: Our store will be closed on Friday before 5:00 for party prep.
Saturday, April 13, noon - 3pm: Join in on our friendly and very fun monthly Ravelry meet-up (and plan to come back every month on the second Saturday!). More community, more project inspiration. As ever, this gathering is free and open to all.
Saturday, April 13, all day: As a special Saturday treat, we're welcoming Alison Kaplan of the Kata Golda Studio to our shop! Alison is the artist behind our one-of-a-kind notebooks, scissor keeps, and small pouches, amongst other delights. She crafts her unique and functional pieces using her plant-dyed fabrics and embroidery done in our hand-dyed yarns. She'll bring a selection of gifts and kits from her studio for you to shop — stop in to find some treasures. We're happy to have Alison here before her dye garden envelops her for another growing season!
Sunday, April 14, 1-3pm: Jackie takes over our teaching table with her workshop on the Snow Crocus sweater (pictured above, pattern by Midori Hirose). Like all of us at The Lamb & Kid, Jackie Rose appreciates the magic in mixing yarns to create fabric — and she is currently exploring this theme through the Snow Crocus sweater. If you’ve been dreaming of squishy cables and delicious fiber combinations, this just might be the project for you!
Snow Crocus sweaters can be knit in any yarn or yarns that yield gauge, but we recommend that you explore the possibilities of Dimond Laine Elmer Fingering held together with Dimond Laine Birdie. This is a favorite mixed base fabric here at The Lamb & Kid — where wool and silk provide structure for the cashmere and the alpaca to shine in all their soft, squeezable glory!
Please pre-register for this class, here. Space is limited.
We can't wait to have you join us!
