We're Celebrating Tweeds and Welcoming our Caboodle Shawl!

We have a special treat for you this weekend — a veritable festival of overdyed tweeds!

Our love for tweed is a year-round affair, but the colder temps and moody, saturated colors of fall remind us of just how much we love these yarns and the fabrics they work into. Our Elmer Tweed Fingering yarn, with its woolen-spun blend of merino and cashmere, softens and blooms beautifully in your projects. We decided to have a bit of fun with our custom-dyed colors from the mill, experimenting with popping them into a variety of dye pots. We're offering the winners to you here in a limited and unique dyed-to-order event!

When you order a color on Elmer Tweed Fingering this weekend it will be overdyed. Our photography reflects this and you'll notice that the colors sometimes appear differently than they do on an undyed skein like Birdie. We hope—like us—that you find this fun and enjoy the variety!

COLORS: Beret, Chesterfield, Frayed Jeans, Grandma's Button, Jolly Green, Loam, Marooned, Mocha (NEW!), Piquant, Robin, Scout, and Tart.

We're offering this weekend's dyed-to-order colors on Birdie and overdyed on a few of our Elmer Tweed Fingering shades.

Our newest pattern, the Caboodle Shawl (see below), releases this weekend too and is knit holding overdyed Elmer Tweed Fingering with Birdie in three colors. Match your favorite dyed-to-order colors on our various fingering-weight tweeds with Birdie for one of our favorite fabrics or shop Caboodle Shawl kits for our picks. #mixthosebases at its best!

Welcome Mocha! Mocha is a new color, an espresso brown with a cool core. A lighter shade than Cabin Chronicles. Shown at right on The Lamb & Kid Trio and Dimond Laine Birdie.

The Caboodle Shawl offers a lot of our favorite things in one knitted accessory—three colors to play in slip-stitch stripes, a touch of Old Shale lace, and a soft tweedy yarn. We couldn't resist a nod to the "whole kit and caboodle" and we hope this piece has a lot of your favorite design elements too! And—bonus—the bias asymmetrical triangle shape has a long tail for wrapping and styling this deliciously drapey fabric!

We're offering kits of some of our favorite color combinations—or order your own three colors from our limited and unique weekend dyed-to-order event. You'll need 2 50g skeins or 1 100g skein of Elmer Tweed for Color 1, along with 1 skein of Birdie, and 1 50g skein each of Elmer Tweed and Birdie in two additional colors.

Grab your copy of the free pattern on our website or on Ravelry.

The Caboodle Shawl is shown above in our kit #1 colors: 2 skeins of Elmer Tweed Fingering (50 g) Loam overdyed on Farmhouse held with 1 skein Birdie in Loam (MC); 1 skein of Elmer Tweed Fingering (100 g) Piquant overdyed on Trifle held with 1 skein Birdie in Piquant (CC1); and 1 skein Elmer Tweed Fingering (100 g) Beret overdyed on Trifle held with 1 skein Birdie in Beret (CC2).
