Sometimes the best meals come from what you have on hand. It’s true in knitting too, and we have a lot of fun playing with our leftovers. This “recipe” yields a pair of oversized, slouchy mitts that can be worn over your palm or pushed down around your wrists for a bit of color at your cuffs.
Finished Measurements:
Approx. 8.5” around x 9” tall
Materials:
The Lamb & Kid Tod Worsted (65% yak, 35% cashmere; 114 yards per 50g); Our sample used five colors, approx. 28 yds of each color.
Or
Your leftover worsted weight yarns totaling 140-150 yds to make a pair.
Sample Shown:
Grand Forest, Old Shale, Shortcake, Anorak, and Kate.
Gauge:
18 sts = 4” in stockinette st in the round, blocked.
Suggested Needles:
Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
Gauge Needle: US8 (5mm) needles, or size needed for gauge, in your favorite format to work small circumferences.
Smaller Needle: US 6 (4mm) needles, or two sizes smaller than your gauge needle.
Note: These mitts are oversized. If you prefer a closer fit, go down a needle size or two.
