We loved the Upstate of Mind hat so much, we just had to make a matching shawl! The Upstate of Mind shawl comes in a 3 color version and an 8 color version. Knit in Dimond Laine Pebbledash, the Upstate of Mind Shawl would also be terrific worked up in Tod Worsted or our brand new Elmer Worsted as well. Opt for a neutral palette, or something more zippy— it’s up to you!

The Upstate of Mind shawl is knit top down with an I-cord bind off. It features either patterned or random stripes (have so much fun with those stripes!) paired with an unexpected chevron panel at the center spine.

Errata:
The stitch counts listed on the 8-color version are incorrect. When you break your MC after the garter tab and initial rows, you’ll have 44 stitches. Once you complete your first stripe in CC1, you’ll have 56 stitches, and etc., until you reach your final stripe, also knit in CC1, and where you should have 328 stitches on your needle (rather than the 340 stitches stated on the pattern).

If you’d like to amend your printed pattern with the correct stitch counts over all thirty stripes, they should read as follows on pages 7-8: 56 stitches, 64, 72, 76, 80, 92, 112, 124, 132, 144, 152, 156, 164, 184, 196, 200, 212, 224, 232, 236, 256, 268, 280, 284, 288, 292, 296, 304, 316, 328 stitches.
