It's Michelle's picks this weekend! This palette is bringing back some old favorites we haven't seen in a while—it’s a bold and striking mix of rich and clear colors, combining the moody and broody with the brights.
Every couple of weeks we'll be introducing the Kids around here—follow along on Instagram to learn more about Michelle this week!
COLORS:
Dean: A beautifully deep and saturated navy blue that leans teal.
Evergreen: A classic fir green that strikes the right balance of warm and cool. Like a walk through a Pacific Northwest forest, from shady cool greens to sunlit moss.
Fandango: A dance between a deep cornflower blue and lavender-to-violet purple. A festival of a color and so much fun! For all you blue and purple lovers out there.
Floret: A soft sage color like faded ornamental sedge grass. Beautiful on its own, or paired with your favorite colors. We especially like it with a forest greens or deep pinks!
Francie: A bright and acidic yellow spring green—a playful color to make you smile. Like the first buds and shoots of spring.
Pomegranate: A juicy and deeply saturated berry red color. This color seriously glows on every single base!
Rouge: A warm and clear ultraviolet that brings an electric energy to any project.
Tart: A mossy green with a bright and juicy undertone. Similar in tone to Avocado but without the brown.
Tattersall: A spirited blend of red, coral, orange, and pink all mixed together that pairs equally well with broody, neutral, and other bright shades.
Yarn purchased in this Dyed-to-Order event will ship approximately the week of 5/26/25.
FIBER CONTENT
Birdie
Light Fingering, 328 yds / 50 g
74% Baby Suri Alpaca, 26% Silk
Birdie is known for its drape, this gorgeously soft baby suri alpaca yarn is blended with silk for strength. Birdie is the perfect alternative for those desiring a fluffy halo, but are allergic or sensitive to mohair. When held with another yarn, Birdie gives more opaque coverage than Mho Mho. Try it held single for a diaphanous effect, or doubled with itself, or another yarn, for more substance. To note: colors take slightly lighter to Birdie and its sisters, than to other bases.
Birdie DK
DK, 246 yds / 100 g
90% Baby Suri Alpaca / 10% Silk
Birdie DK has a higher alpaca content than the rest of the Birdie family so you get even more squishable softness. It has a slubby, thick-and-thin quality to both the yarn in the skein and in the finished fabric. Speaking of the fabric, think texture—just a bit of wild wavy-ness to your finished stitches—in an overall cuddly and drapey finish. This yarn feels heavenly against your skin.
Elmer Fingering
Fingering, 400 yds / 100 g
80% Merino, 20% Cashmere
Elmer Fingering is a woolen spun Merino/Cashmere blend. Like Elmer Tweed, it's rustic with a beautiful texture and richness. It’s fantastic on its own and perfect for colorwork. It’s light, lofty, and holds its shape beautifully. All the hold and snap back of wool with a whisper of cashmere for softness and halo. This workhorse, I-can-do-anything yarn is a shop favorite. Elmer Fingering also knits spectacularly well at a sport weight.
Trio DK
DK, 275 yds / 100 g
70% Merino, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
Trio DK is everything you love about our fingering-weight Trio, in a DK-weight custom-milled trifecta of 70% merino, 20% cashmere, and 10% nylon. It's a smoothly worsted spun, hard-working yarn that takes the dye beautifully, giving every color an extra glow-up! Trio DK's merino content provides beautiful texture and memory, the cashmere brings a sumptuous hand, and the hint of nylon adds structure in draping and durability. We adore this new yarn for sweaters and accessories alike!
