Release the hounds(tooth)! A classic autumnal pattern in a classic shawl shape for a finished piece that is dashing and a touch unexpected – perfection. This is a shawl for all your fall-inspired fantasies.
Finished Measurements:
Approx. 72” wingspan by 32” deep.
Materials:
Color A: Dimond Laine Big Birdie (79% alpaca, 21% silk, 174 yards per 100g skein); 3 skeins.
Color B: The Lamb & Kid Tod Worsted (65% yak, 35% cashmere, 114 yards per 50g skein); 3 skeins.
Or
Color A: 440 yds / 400m of Aran weight yarn
Color B: 290 yds / 265m of worsted weight yarn
Total yardage: 730 yds / 665m.

Color A: Big Birdie in Pop Rocks,
Color B: Tod Worsted in Island Bunny.
VARIATION: Use Big Birdie for both Color A and Color B. To knit the shawl we show here you’ll need 3 skeins of Color A, Blackbird (approx. 480 yds), and 2 skeins of Color B, Peanut (approx. 320 yds). We used a US 10.5 (6.5mm) needle for the shawl body and went down to a US 10 (6mm) for the ribbing. Your finished size will be approx. 78” wingspan x 36” deep along spine. Your gauge will measure approx. 13 sts/15 rows over 4”.
Gauge:
Approx. 15 sts/20 rows = 4” in mosaic houndstooth stitch, after blocking.
Suggested Needles:
Needles listed are suggested. Always take time to swatch.
Gauge Needle: US 10 (6mm) 32” circular needles.
Optional: US 10.5 (6.5mm), or needle one size larger than Gauge Needle for bind-off.

4 stitch markers, tapestry needle.
